Along with working with individual and teams of educators, the Teacher Collaborative partners with schools, districts, and the broader education community to elevate teachers' expertise, build capacity, and provide collaborative opportunities to make all schools better places to learn.
Five District Partnership
The Five District Partnership (5DP) is a joint educational effort among the Massachusetts districts of Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Revere and Winthrop to improve instruction and academic achievement. The Teacher Collaborative supports the 5DP leadership in selecting, implementing, and facilitating the 5DP Teacher Advisory Board to collect teachers' feedback and input. We also support an annual Educator Showcase to highlight and share promising instructional practices.
The Boston Compact brings together educators from district, charter and Catholic schools across Boston in order to improve education for all children in Boston. The Teacher Collaborative is facilitating school visits in which local educators and education leaders visit a district, charter, and Catholic school in one day to observe and reflect on instruction and learning.
Boston Collegiate Charter School
Boston Collegiate Charter School is establishing a Fund for Teaching Excellence to celebrate and support great teaching. The Teacher Collaborative is creating and facilitating design thinking sessions with educators to develop the goals of the fund and its uses as well as provide guidance on implementation.
Convening Education Organizations
There are many organizations who work with teachers in Massachusetts. The Teacher Collaborative brings organizations together for a quarterly breakfast to share information about their programs, discuss current education topics, and learn from each other.
